EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR JOB OPENING

POSITION: EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR, NAPA COUNTY LANDMARKS, Inc.

Reports to: Board of Directors/Executive Committee
Works with: Officers and Committee Chairs, Staff &Volunteers

POSITION SUMMARY

The Executive Director advises the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors in their capacity as the organization's policy-setting group and is responsible for the execution of policy formulated by the board. The Executive Director will possess a thorough knowledge of the organization's culture, policies and procedures, provide leadership for the development and execution of the organization's strategic plans, and be responsible for the management of the organization's resources.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide leadership for change, and coordinate consistent communications and modeling of cultural, professional, and organizational development goals as set by the board of directors
  • Coordinate the development and implementation of the organization's strategic plans
  • Facilitate consensus for decision-making
  • Provide constructive feedback to board members and staff to promote the achievement of organizational goals
  • Provide support and perspective to committee leaders to help them develop and improve their committee's performance
  • Coordinate activities to maximize effectiveness and consistency with organizational goals
  • Outreach, relationship development, and positioning with members and key influencers
  • Improve communications throughout the organization
  • Manage the organization's operating budget and resources to maximize effectiveness

OVERSIGHT RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Resource and program development
  • Marketing and member/donor relationship management
  • Administration and finance/ provide detailed and accurate information to bookkeeping service
  • Staff development, performance, and retention
  • Grant writing
  • Maintain access-based membership information

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

  • Excellent communications and inter-personal skills
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Funding and alliance development experience
  • Ability to work collaboratively
  • Ability to prioritize and perform several tasks concurrently with ease and professionalism
  • Demonstrated knowledge of, experience with, and dedication to historic preservation
